The Dance Ministry, under the covering of Christ Family Community Church, is founded under the principle that God is our very breath and without Him we can do nothing. When God created humans, He moved upon the earth and much good came out of His moving and that includes dance. When people think about dance and the bible, they tend to go to two scriptures:
- 2 Samuel 6:14 where we see how David danced with so much passion and love for God; and
- Exodus 15:20 where Miriam and the women lead a procession in dance to signify their praise unto Father for saving them from Pharoah and his army.
People tend not to know about how God danced over us: If you look at the Hebrew word gil which is translated as rejoice, but means to spin around in joy you will see that in Zephaniah 3:17 God dances over us: “The Lord your God in the midst of thee [is] mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.” The translation of “he will joy” is the term yagil. This then means God dances with joy over us! Can you imagine God dancing over his people?
Because of this, we believe without a shadow of a doubt that when God said in Genesis 1:31: “Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!”, that He meant everything and everything includes dance. We also know that it is clear in Psalm 149 and 150 that when He states to Praise Him in the Dance, that it means exactly that. Dance ministry is sometimes looked “down upon” but we must continue to look at what Father said about dance (the good and the bad) and realize that it is man who distorted many of the things God created and that includes dance; but to remember just because something may have been distorted by man that does not mean that we are to do “away” with that thing; instead, we are to take back what the devil has stolen.
So, when we (members of In Him We Move) dance before our Father and in front of others, we are doing it because: 1) He has called each of us to it; 2) it is a big part of our purpose here on the earth; 3) we are commissioned to spread the Love of Jesus through the word of God via dance; 4) we are to tell people to get ready for His return; 5) we must help set the captives free; and 6) the anointing resides in us to do all that God wants to do through us. May you all be blessed by our ministry as well as through other dance ministries that are striving to do as God has called them to do.
DRAMA MINISTRY
The drama ministry has been blessed to bring to life three productions for the past three resurrection services. We believe that whatever is brought before people in dramatic display must be life changing and not just thought provoking.
Working in collaboration with Dance His Word Drama Ministry and other outside ministries and solo dancers and actors, we have always accomplished the end result of each dramatic presentation: souls giving their lives over to Christ. The ministry will prepare for future events by showcasing these life changing productions in outside venues including street ministries. The dance & praise and worship ministries work in collaboration with the productions to bring forth the various art forms entrusted to us.
To have our ministry visit your church as well as to receive possible copies of the 2009 “Run To The Altar” production, please contact the church for availability.
PRAISE & WORSHIP MINISTRY
Before many battles in the old testament God had his chosen people to praise and worship Him before the warriors went to war.
That simple act caused God to give them favor in his sight as they were obedient. During the praise and worship God had already fought the battle and provided victory for them.
The C.F.C.C. Praise and Worship Ministry understands the importance of honoring our Lord with our praise daily not just on Sunday’s.
Leading by example, when you visit C.F.C.C. we “expect” you to get your praise on and to give God all the glory, all the honor and all the praise for all that he has done, is doing and will do for you.
Our purpose is to ensure that everyone in His presence confess that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior.
